Melissa graduated from La Salle University with a MA in Professional Clinical Counseling. She has worked in settings that include college counseling, in-home counseling for children, school-based therapy, and community mental health. Melissa works with all ages with a focus on grief/loss/trauma and anxiety including phobias, OCD, and social anxiety. She has experience providing mental health clearance for bariatric surgery candidates and works with parents teaching behavior modification techniques for children.
Melissa strives to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where her clients can reflect and learn from past experiences, but also remain grounded in the present moment. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can facilitate insight and lasting change. Melissa’s main approaches to counseling include person-centered and relational using evidence-based techniques, in addition to tailoring therapy to fit the unique needs of each client.
